What is The Salou Foundation?

At The Salou Foundation, our mission is to improves the quality of life for Cystic Fibrosis patients. To do this we produce a list of short, medium and long term projects that you can donate towards. We call these projects "differences". Our list of differences allows you to choose where you would like your donation to go, as well as the amount you would like to contribute towards each difference you choose. Whether you decide to make a contribution towards a project that will help patients in the long term (such as funding a new piece of critical medical equipment) or donate towards something that will make a real difference to patients today (such as a fun day out for a patient after spending months in hospital), you will know the specific impact your gift has made. By donating via our website you will also receive updates and can track the progress of your donation.

We believe that knowing where your donation is going will really help to inspire generous and rewarding giving.

Why The Salou Foundation was created – a note from founder Paul Fannin

In 2015 my 29-year-old sister Sarah lost her fight with Cystic Fibrosis. I knew that I had to channel my grief and pain into positive actions to help others in need, and my first response to this was to fundraise for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a charity that is very important to me and my family (and which we aim to work with regularly). I also began to think of additional ways I could help to make a difference, and created The Salou Foundation to provide a personal way of donating to good causes and directly improving the lives of those in need.

I founded The Salou Foundation in memory of my wonderful sister and best friend. Salou was my nickname for Sarah and is an abbreviated form of Sarah Louise, Sa-Lou.
